This is Princess Elisabeth, a research camp made in Antarctica by Belgium sciences.
It was design and build using the PassivHaus principles, made from timber frame structure. The U-value of the walls is around 0.07W/m2K.
The buildings it’s maintaining it’s internal comfort only by solar gains, heat from people and electronics plus a small amount of heat.
This building is high comfortable, since they are wearing short sleeves.
This building is also a zero emission building, due to it’s sun and wind renewable’s.
